Town of Thorsby Public Hearing - Land Use Amendment Bylaw #2026-04

Council will hold a Public Hearing for Bylaw #2026-04, an Amendment to the Land Use Bylaw #2025-05, in which any person may ask questions or make comments. The Public Hearing is scheduled for May 26th at 5:30pm and will be located in the Council Chambers at 4917 Hankin Street, Thorsby AB, T0C 2P0.

Bylaw #2026-04 proposed to amend the land use bylaw to:

  • Amend the Land Use Bylaw to Amend Section 4.4(6) Variance Authority of the Land Use Bylaw to increase the maximum variance that may be granted by the Development Authority from 10% to 25%.


A copy of Bylaw #2026-04, amendment to Land Use Bylaw #2025-05, may be picked up or inspected at the Town of Thorsby Administration office during regular office hours, or by email at: planning@thorsby.ca.

Written or verbal submissions can be made by any person who claims to be affected, or from any other person the council agrees to hear from. Written submissions regarding Bylaw #2026-04 Amendment to Land Use Bylaw #2025-05 will be accepted on or before May 20th at 5:30pm.

If you want to speak at the public hearing, you must pre-register by May 20th at 5:30pm or at the start of the public hearing if you are attending in-person. You can pre-register by contacting the Legislative Clerk at 780-789-3935 extension 103 or by emailing planning@thorsby.ca.

If you make a written submission, the information you provide may be made public, subject to the provisions of the Access to Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act.
