Road Notice

CAO Donna here:

The rain is causing havoc on our roads and it’s not very fun for anyone as we all drive them. We can blade and we have done some test blading and as soon as it rains the road is worse and we are pushing water only. For your knowledge as well, county roads are different and some of them can’t be bladed at this time either. We MUST wait until it dries more before we can make a difference.

I get the frustration and yes, I’m on all the roads and streets too! I totally empathize what everyone is experiencing, and we aren’t alone as a municipality in this. The roads must dry so that we aren’t wasting money. Next week it’s supposed to be dry all week, and we’ll get out there and straighten out the roads.

If you are wondering about the potholes on 778 – that is a provincial highway, and we have called our contractor, and the province has decreed that resources must go to the QE2 at this time. They will remedy it at the first opportunity.

So, let’s all slow down, and yes, that includes me too.
