Our CPO Dejan provides the following message and as the CAO of the Town, we will not ever have any of our field team accept money at all, so please be vigilant. Someone is using CPO Dejan Cvijetićs information which is illegal. If you're not sure, please advise the RCMP, or our CPO or the Town team.

 

I wanted to bring to your immediate attention a scam that has recently come to light within the Town of Thorsby. It has been reported that an individual is impersonating me, calling residents, and falsely claiming that they need to pay money directly to me for remedial orders.

 

Please be advised that at no time would I, or any peace officer or member of law enforcement, request or accept payments directly from residents. All fines, fees, or payments related to remedial orders or any enforcement actions are processed through official channels and should never be paid directly to an officer.

I would appreciate it if you could spread the word to residents and reinforce that any such requests for money are fraudulent. Residents should be advised to contact the local enforcement office or the RCMP immediately if they receive any suspicious calls.
