Thorsby Lions Campground

The Lions Campground is located within the Town borders in a quiet spot backing on to Weed Creek. It boasts many wonderful features such as:
  • 17 sites
  • Big Rig friendly
  • Water and electrical hook-ups are available (110v 15a)
  • Sewage dumping station for campers' convenience
  • Picnic shelter/Cook shack with wood stove 
  • Large group area
  • Fire pits/Large group fire pit
  • Firewood available
  • Playground
  • Being located adjacent to Thorsby Network of Trials (6km single track multi-use trails)

FIRST RESPONDERS AND VETERANS DISCOUNT

First responders and veterans receive a 10% discount when booking to camp!

GROUP RESERVATIONS

The group member making the reservation will  be responsible for collecting any money from members of their party. This group member will also be solely responsible for campsite allocation.

CANCELLATIONS

“No Shows” will not be refunded under any circumstances. If you wish to cancel your reservation and receive a refund, we require a notice of a minimum of 3 business days (with Noon being the starting time). All cancellations will be subject to a $5 service fee plus a 3% transaction charge. There will no exceptions, regardless of the circumstances.

Rules & Regulations

Arrival/Departure Procedure:

  • When arriving, please call the campground phone number or check in with attendant.
  • Please follow ONE WAY SIGN!

Check-in/Check-out:

  • Check-in time is after 12pm on arrival.
  • Check out time is 11am the day of vacating.

Damage/Clean-up Fee:

  • Your card will be charged $50 if any damages are left, such as but not limited to:
    • Vandalized picnic tables
    • Broken picnic tables, etc.
  • Your card will be charged $25 if any garbage is left behind such as but not limited to:
    • Food scraps
    • Garbage of any kind
    • Large items (ie. furniture, fixtures, etc.)

Parking/Capacity:

  • One trailer per site + one additional tent free of charge, $10.00 additional charge for any extra (limit of 2 tents per site with a trailer.)
  • Trailers must be parked perpendicular in the spot allocated unless approved by attendant.
  • One vehicle per site + 1 guest vehicle. Any other vehicles, please park at the top of the hill across from the brown shed.

Cleanliness:

  • Sites must be kept clean and free of litter.
  • If you move picnic tables from their spot, please move them back!

Sani-Dump:

  • The sani dump is free to all campers and Town of Thorsby residents, others are asked to make a donation of $10.00, which helps our Lions CLub with future events and local support.

Quiet Time:

  • Quiet time is from 11pm until 7am.

Wood:

  • Wood must be obtained by campground attendant or committee member.
  • Wood is $15 per wheelbarrow or $7 per bag, depending on supply.

Pets:

  • Pets must be always kept under control and leashed, kenneled or penned. (Town of Thorsby Animal Bylaws apply.)

Alcohol & Cannabis:

  • Alcohol and Cannabis must be kept on your site.

Safety:

  • Regular patrols are done daily and nightly, please respect our staff during these patrols, they are done for your safety.
  • All Town of Thorsby bylaws apply to the campground.

Day Use Area:

  • The day use area is by the cook shack, available only when it is not booked for events, parties, etc. or the area by the photo booth. Please do not use campsites for campfires if you have not booked that site, please use the day use fire pits (by the cook shack, and by the photo booth. You will be asked to evacuate a campsite if you have not booked it. Day use only until 9:00pm!

All open fire burning is subject to the Town of Thorsby's Fire Regulation Status, which can be found on Alberta Fire Bans.

The Lions Club of Thorsby has the right to evict any guest for belligerence or harassment of fellow campers and/or staff, as well as for any reason such as breaking any of the campground rules. No refund will be given if you are evicted, or if you leave your booked site early.
