JOINT NEWS RELEASE: Exploring New Opportunities to Strengthen Water Security

This is the first press release to start the information process and to let you know that both Councils and Administrations have been working hard on this initiative. There will be more information coming out and dates to remember as we move forward this spring so stay tuned to the Wetaskiwin page. We have chosen this page to keep all information in the same place for easy location and so that you know that the information on that page is correct, real, and vetted by the Councils.

Dog Catching Efforts in Progress

May 18 2023

Lets work together to help our large fluffy pal!

You may have seen a Great White Pyrenees roaming around the edges of Thorsby recently, and we have been hard at working trying to find the perfect person to help catch him, as well as find the perfect place to go.

We have contracted assistance from a reputable dog rescue service, but we need assistance from residents to help us catch the dog.

What we're asking is for residents, businesses, and any friends in Leduc County to please DO NOT feed or attempt to go near the dog from this point on. There will be a live trap that he has to want to go into.

You can help us keep track of his location by phoning 780-789-3935 and hitting the Bylaw option. Please only call about very recent sightings within the hour.

This trap will be monitored by a trained professional, and the Town is ready to assist when needed as well. Efforts may take time, but with everyone working together, I am sure we can help our furry pal.
